The concept of wood waste is diverse and manifold. In simple terms, wood waste refers to wood that has served a specific purpose for years, and become a secondary raw material or waste for disposal. The production of wood waste relies on both residential and commercial sources. It contains various wooden elements including construction and demolition timber and waste wood.
Treatment plays a key role when it comes to waste wood. It has divided wood waste into 3 types: treated, untreated and contaminated. Each requires a separate container during disposal.
Before delving any further into our wood waste removal process, let us comprehend the 4 types of wood waste:
Wood A: Natural or insignificantly processed waste wood which does not contain any contaminants. This type of waste wood includes disposable pallets, cuttings, offcuts, chips, natural solid wood and more.
Wood B: This is treated old wood without preservatives and halogenated organic compounds in the coating. Examples of this are wood materials, decorative beams, ceiling panels, floorboards, wooden interior fittings, false wooden floors etc.
Wood C: Waste wood with a halogen-organic coating but without preservatives falls in this category. It includes pallets, kitchen worktops etc.
Old wood waste with high pollutants and preservatives is referred to as Holz AIV wood waste. Examples of this are power poles, wooden windows, external doors, wooden garden furniture, wooden fences and more.
Many confuse wood waste, bulky waste and garden waste. So here is how to draw a line between them. Wooden furniture parts that include some elements of metal, plastic or sponge are bulky waste. Similarly, dead trunks and tree branches are not categorised as waste wood, but as garden waste. Wood waste is wooden items that were used before and have become trash now.
